Description:
This private 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, designed in
association with British great Tony Jacklin, is named after one of the grandest
gestures in sportsmanship history, known as “The Concession.” In 1969, with the
outcome of the USA/UK Ryder Cup Match at Royal Birkdale in Southport, England,
hanging in the balance, Jack Nicklaus conceded a two-foot putt to Tony Jacklin
on the last green, resulting in the first tie in the match’s history. Scheduled
for completion in 2006, a luxurious clubhouse will complement the championship
course.
